Hey there welcome to the forum, without a doubt you should get an freehand zero, its always a good choice. you can play it with a bit of repsonse and then later on when you get a bit better you can tune it to keep up with your skills.

I suggest one of the yyj plastics, as they are in the cheaper price range and are quite good for the beginner and when it stops working well for you they are easy to get advice on. I suggest getting a journey or kickside out of the yyj plastic range.

You can go with FH Zeros but I find the response with stock ones to be unreliable for beginners. You'll have to spend more $$ on renewing the stickers and such.

hope this helps and welcome to the forum, btw where abouts are you from?

YYJ Speed Maker, YYF Velocity, YYF Plastic Grind Machine or a Phat-Yo Trick Assassin, Zan Navi are also a pretty good choices.

oh man, I forgot about the Zan Navi!

I'm with Stu on that one, best all-round (1/4/5a) budget yoyo. It's like a Throw Monkey with a response system that doesn't die.

I didn't know about the plastic GM though, nice... anyone in Sydney with one?

The Zan-navis are good, not sure where you can get them from that has them in stock though and not enough time to fully search for any. have a look though.

I don't have a plastic GM, but have used them and their not bad, but compared to other plastic yoyos are a little over priced.

I had a Yotech Pro-switch.

Heff nearly destroyed it because it was terrible. I went to a YYJ Dark Magic that he gave me and that was awesome.
I now have a FHZ and it's fantastic.
