Out of towner wants to meet up in Sydney

Postby Rampant.Animator » Tue Oct 16, 2007 9:35 pm

Hi,

It appears that the only yo-yo action in Brisbane is watching the tumbleweeds roll through the ghost town. (Tumbleweeds are in the low response freehand catagory)

I'll be in Sydney between Xmas and New Year and hoping that a few peeps will want to meet up. I'm very new to this and would really appreciate being able to see something other than on video. Some tips would be most welcome as well. :-)

Regards,
Bruce

I'll be arriving in Sydney sometime on Friday 21 December and leaving on 2 January. Any reasonable day (ie not NYE etc) should be fine. My family may want to tag along, especially my daughter who is expecting a yo-yo for Xmas so between Xmas and New Year is best.

Absolute best dates are Thursday 27 or Sunday 30 December

Thanks everyone I'm really looking forward to it :-)

We usually meet on sundays so depending on everyones schedules, that may be best.
However, some of us may be on holidays so a mid-week meet might work aswell.

We'll see how we go in a months time :)

Can we confirm Sunday 30 December as a date?

Where do you guys usually meet? I'll be staying in the Parramatta area so that's fairly central. Name the time and the place and I'll be there.

I'm also looking to add some weight to a YoYoJam Journey. Is there anyone in Sydney that can help me?

I think this thread has migrated to here...

As for the weights in the journey...
If you dont have any rubber o-rings, or pre-made metal rings (from anoher yoyo), use electrical wire (the think kind that holds is shape when you bend it).
Make a couple of rings with that n install them under the pogs.
Should be nice n heavy :)
