Worlds looks like being 1 minute freestyle qualifies in 07

There is also talks of shorter freestyles (2 min is being trialed at some US regional events)

Yeah...
I saw there has been some discussion/changes on this.
I hope some of good elements of other competitions (Japan/Spinworx) are adopted by others.

I think 1 minute freestyles are a good thing.

3 minute freestyles aren't all bad - but it can be hard on the judges and spectators if there are many competitors (or if every player is a clone of the last).

I think there is still some reform that could help.
IMHO age could be challenging a few of the hierarchy...

1 minute freestyles sounds like good watching. Shorter times make for tighter performances.

Spinworx used it in Malaysia - check some of the vids - they are awesome!

One minute freestyles might force a lot of players into what i like to call the 'Hammy da Squirrel' approach (thing over the hedge).
If there's only one minute then we might lose the creative and fun side of the top players for favor of stupid fast tech tricks

That being said, it might also result in players pushing for harder and more creative tricks in order to stand out :D

Who knows, only time will tell.
I laugh at your universe!
